Apple Enchiladas are a delightful twist on traditional enchiladas, filled with sweet apple fruit filling and warm spices, then baked to golden perfection. This easy dessert recipe is perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 (21 ounce) can apple fruit filling (or substitute with your favorite fruit filling)
  • 6 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prep the Tortillas: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Grease a baking dish lightly to prevent sticking.
  2. Fill Tortillas: Lay out the flour tortillas and spoon the apple fruit filling evenly down the center of each tortilla. Sprinkle with cinnamon for that extra hint of spice.
  3. Roll and Arrange: Carefully roll up each tortilla and place them seam side down in the prepared baking dish. This keeps all the delicious filling securely inside.
  4. Make the Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, sugar, brown sugar, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  5. Bake: Pour the hot sauce over the arranged enchiladas in the dish. Let the enchiladas stand for about 30 minutes to soak up some of the sauce, infusing them with sweetness and flavor. Then, bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until they are slightly golden and bubbly.
  6. Serve Warm: These enchiladas are best served warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream to complement the warm spices.
