Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Mixture

  • 1 ½ lbs cooked and chopped chicken (Rotisserie chicken works great)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Garlic Butter

  • 8 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 9 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Other Ingredients

  • 15 oz Alfredo sauce
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced horizontally
  • 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Prep the Bread: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Slice the French bread horizontally. Melt 5 tablespoons of butter and whisk it together with garlic powder and chopped parsley. Brush this flavorful garlic butter mixture onto the bread slices. Place the bread in the oven and bake for 4-5 minutes until it turns lightly golden and crispy.
  2. Heat Alfredo Sauce: While the bread is toasting, add the Alfredo sauce to a saucepan along with the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter, grated Parmesan cheese, onion powder, smoked paprika, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Warm the sauce over medium heat, stirring frequently, until all ingredients are well combined and the sauce is smooth and heated through.
  3. Assemble: Remove the toasted bread from the oven and spread half of the prepared Alfredo sauce evenly over the bread slices. Layer the cooked and chopped chicken evenly on top of the sauce. Then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and the remaining Parmesan cheese over the chicken for a cheesy topping.
  4. Bake: Return the assembled bread to the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheeses are melted, bubbly, and lightly golden. Once baked, slice the bread into serving pieces and serve warm for the best flavor experience.

Notes

  • Using rotisserie chicken saves time and adds extra flavor.
  • Adjust garlic amounts to taste for a milder or stronger garlic flavor.
  • You can prepare the sauce ahead and reheat before assembling.
  • For a crispier crust, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
