Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 14.3 oz package (36 cookies) Golden Oreos, crushed into crumbs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature

Coating and Decorating

  • 10 oz white candy coating
  • Additional 1 oz of white candy coating per color, for decorating
  • Gel icing colors (various colors as desired)

Instructions

  1. Crush the cookies: Add the Golden Oreo cookies to a food processor or blender and crush into fine crumbs, ensuring there are no large pieces for a smooth mixture.
  2. Mix with cream cheese: In a bowl, combine the cream cheese with the Oreo crumbs until well blended. The mixture should be cohesive enough to easily form into balls or shapes without falling apart.
  3. Shape the eggs: Use approximately 1 1/2 tablespoons of the cookie mixture per egg to form oval Easter egg shapes by hand, pressing firmly to maintain shape.
  4. Chill the shaped eggs: Place the shaped eggs on a tray and refrigerate for about 1 hour to firm up, making them easier to dip and handle.
  5. Melt candy coating and dip: Melt 10 ounces of white candy coating until smooth. Using a toothpick inserted into the bottom of each chilled egg, dip them fully into the melted coating, gently shaking off excess. Place dipped eggs on parchment paper to dry, carefully removing the toothpick by twisting it out, and seal the hole with a dab of melted candy coating.
  6. Decorate: Melt additional white candy coating in separate small batches per color (about 1 ounce each). Mix gel icing colors into the melted coating to achieve desired shades. Pipe or drizzle the colored coatings over the dipped eggs to decorate as you like.
  7. Store: Keep the decorated Oreo eggs refrigerated. They will stay fresh for up to 1 week when stored properly.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • You can use regular Oreos if you prefer chocolate flavor instead of Golden Oreos.
  • Use toothpicks carefully to avoid breaking the shape when dipping.
  • The amount of gel icing color can be adjusted to obtain your preferred shade intensity.
  • Store the finished eggs in an airtight container in the fridge to maintain freshness.
