  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups milk
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Additional:

  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare Wet Ingredients: Beat eggs until foamy, then mix in milk and vanilla extract.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar.
  3. Mix Batter: Combine wet ingredients into dry until smooth.
  4. Heat Oil: Heat oil to 375°F in a deep pot or skillet.
  5. Fry: Drop batter by spoonfuls into hot oil, cooking until golden brown on both sides (1-2 minutes per side).
  6. Drain and Dust: Drain on paper towels and dust generously with powdered sugar while warm.
