This Garlic Parmesan Chicken Tortellini is a creamy and flavorful pasta dish that combines tender chicken, cheese tortellini, and fresh broccoli in a rich garlic Parmesan sauce.

For the Tortellini:

  • 1 lb fresh cheese tortellini

For the Chicken:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken breast, cubed

For the Broccoli:

  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the Tortellini: Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook tortellini according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Broccoli: Steam broccoli florets for 3-4 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender. Immediately plunge into ice water to stop cooking, then drain and set aside.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Season chicken cubes with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken until golden brown on all sides and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned. Slowly pour in heavy cream, whisking constantly. Remove skillet from heat and gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water gradually.
  5. Combine and Serve: Return chicken to skillet, add cooked tortellini and steamed broccoli. Gently toss everything together until well coated with sauce. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan cheese.
