This Garlic Parmesan Grilled Chicken is a flavorful and easy-to-make dish that’s perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a weekend barbecue. The chicken is marinated in a delicious blend of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and Parmesan, then grilled to juicy perfection and finished with a sprinkle of more Parmesan and fresh parsley.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Marinade:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional, for balance)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Chicken:

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • More Parmesan for topping
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, honey, garlic, seasonings, and Parmesan. Add chicken and toss to coat. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours for max flavor).
  2. Preheat grill: Heat grill to medium-high. Oil grates lightly to prevent sticking.
  3. Grill the chicken: Remove chicken from marinade, letting excess drip off. Grill 5–7 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and juices run clear.
  4. Finish with cheese: In the last 1–2 minutes of grilling, sprinkle more Parmesan over the top to let it melt slightly.
  5. Serve: Remove from grill, rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra cheese if desired.
