Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper

Sauce:

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Additional:

  • 1 package (30 ounces) frozen shredded hash browns

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Season: Add garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Add Sauce: Stir in cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until well mixed. Add 1 cup of cheddar cheese and mix until melted.
  5. Assemble: Spread frozen hash browns in the baking dish. Pour beef mixture over hash browns.
  6. Top and Bake: Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 15 more minutes until bubbly.
  7. Serve: Let it cool slightly before serving.
