Ingredients

Scale

Protein & Vegetables

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 ½ cups chopped white onion
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, chopped small
  • 1 cup frozen peas

Pan Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 ½ cups teriyaki sauce

Optional

  • 4 cups cooked rice (to serve with)

Instructions

  1. Cook Rice: Prepare 1½ cups of rice according to package instructions, either using a rice cooker or on the stove. Set aside when done.
  2. Prep Vegetables: Shred 1 cup of carrots, chop 1 ½ cups of white onion, mince 3 garlic cloves, and chop 2 cups of broccoli florets into bite-size pieces to ensure even cooking.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, cooking until the onion becomes translucent, about 1-2 minutes, releasing fragrant flavors.
  4. Cook Turkey: Add 1 lb of lean ground turkey to the pan. Use a wooden spatula to break it apart and cook thoroughly until no longer pink, ensuring it’s evenly browned and crumbly.
  5. Add Vegetables: Stir in the chopped broccoli, shredded carrots, and frozen peas. Cover the pan and allow the vegetables to cook until the broccoli is tender but still slightly crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add Sauce: Pour 1 ½ cups of teriyaki sauce over the meat and vegetable mixture. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce is heated through and coats all ingredients evenly.
  7. Serve: Scoop the cooked rice into bowls and top with the teriyaki ground turkey and vegetable mixture. Serve hot and enjoy a wholesome, tasty meal.
