Delightful Thanksgiving-themed Rice Krispies Treats transformed into festive turkey pops. These chocolate-infused treats combine classic marshmallow cereal squares with fun candy decorations, perfect for kids and holiday celebrations. Easy to make and visually charming, they add a playful twist to traditional Rice Krispies treats.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Rice Krispies Treats

  • 6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 10 oz marshmallows (about 40 large or 4 cups mini)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, divided

To Decorate

  • 1 package candy corn
  • Edible googly eyes (Wilton brand recommended)
  • 1012 lollipop sticks
  • Tube of brown frosting (optional, for easier decorating)

Instructions

  1. Make the chocolate krispy treats: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir constantly until fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in most of the semisweet chocolate chips (reserve a small handful for decorating) until melted and combined. Slowly add the Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal, folding with a spatula until every piece is coated with the chocolate marshmallow mixture.
  2. Press marshmallow mixture into cookie sheet: Transfer the mixture to a 13 x 9-inch cookie sheet. Spread evenly and press firmly along all edges. Place a sheet of wax paper over the mixture and gently roll with a rolling pin to flatten the surface. Let cool and set for 20 minutes.
  3. Cut Rice Krispies Treats into rectangles: Using a sharp knife, cut the cooled chocolate Rice Krispies treats into rectangles about 3 inches long. Insert a lollipop stick carefully into the bottom of each rectangle, creating pops.
  4. Decorate the turkey rice krispie treats: Melt the remaining chocolate chips in a small saucepan or microwave in short bursts. Use the melted chocolate as edible glue to attach candy corn as turkey feathers and edible googly eyes and candy pieces for the beak and eyes. Optionally, use brown frosting for additional details. Let decorated treats set for about an hour at room temperature. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use wax paper to prevent sticking while rolling out the Rice Krispies mixture.
  • Press mixture firmly into the pan to ensure treats hold shape when cut.
  • Allow treats to cool completely before decorating to avoid melting the candy.
  • Use brown frosting for easier decorating, especially for kids.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep treats fresh for several days.
